Wave Works Solutions will be terminating all services on December 30, 2019. After this date, your website and or email will no longer function and support for your website updates will no longer be available. Over the next few months, we will work with each of our customers to find an alternative provider for each service you have with us.

If you have a website hosting or email solution with us, we will assist you with signing up for and migrating to a new web and/or email host and will offer pro-rated refunds for any pre-paid hosting services you have with us.

The success of Wave Works Solutions over the previous years has been largely due to our customer base. We have made every effort to please each one of our customers through personalized service and we are very grateful to you for trusting in us for your web-based solutions. However, all good things must come to an end. We value each and every one of our customers and wanted to provide ample time so you can seek a replacement development and hosting company as we wind down our operations.

Refunds:

  • We will offer pro-rated refunds for any pre-paid web hosting and email hosting services once you have transferred your service to another provider.
  • Domain name registrations cannot be refunded. However, registrations are transferrable to a new registrar and a transfer adds another year to your registration.
  • SSL certificates cannot be refunded. However, there is no fee to use the remainder of your SSL certificate term at a new web host.

Where should I sign up for web hosting?

We recommend using Hostek as they offer configurations similar to our own, and will offer the smoothest transition. For most of our customers, Hostek's Lucee Personal Plus plan (navigate to "Shared" from the main menu and then "Lucee Shared") is all that is needed. For most of our customers websites, it is necessary that your new web host support the following:

  • Adobe ColdFusion or Lucee CFML server
  • IIS 8.0 Web Server
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • MySQL Server (If your website is using PHP)

Where should I sign up for email?

Sometimes email will be included with your new web host. “Free” email is okay if you business doesn’t depend on using email in your day to day operations. However, we recommend migrating to Microsoft’s Office 365 Business Essentials for the most advanced email protection and reliability.

Where should I transfer my domain name?

If you have a domain name registered with us, and you are also transferring your web hosting to another provider, we recommend transferring your domain name to that same provider. When a domain is transferred (for a fee), an additional year is added to your registration. In order to retain your domain name past it's expiration date, you must transfer it out of our registry.

Where should I purchase a new SSL Certificate?

If you have a current SSL certificate with us, it will continue to work at your new web host up to its expiration date. New and renewal SSL certificates should be available thru your new web host. You can also purchase a certificate from any third-party companies such as GoDaddy. However, you may need assistance from your webhost in getting it properly setup.

How do I start transferring my website?

Contact us and we will advise you as to which plan at Hostek your website will need to function correctly. We will assist with up to 1 hour of support to migrate your website to your new webhost. Additional migration time will be billed at $75 per hour. Once your site is up and running on your new webhost, we will process your pro-rated refund. Once your website has been transferred, you are responsible for the ongoing billing, backup, maintenance, updates and security of your website.

We will need access to your control panel via a temporary login where we can manage settings to properly configure your new website. You can remove this temporary login after we have confirmed your site is properly configured.

How do I start transferring my email?

Contact us and we will recommend a provider based on your email usage. Most email providers will offer migration assistance where they will automatically pull in all your email from your previous email provider. Please check with your new email provider for migration assistance. We will provide up to 1 hour of migration assistance to copy your email to your new email provider. We may need access to your control panel/email account during this migration. Once your email is is up and running on your new provider, we will process your pro-rated refund (if applicable). Once your email has been transferred, you are responsible for the backup, and security of your email.
